Reince Priebus’ removal from the White House ‘imminent’
There has been rumor about Reince Priebus’ future in the Republican community and one reporter has stated that an announcement about Priebus will soon be made.
Two White House sources tell me Reince Priebus’s departure is imminent. The President would like to land Reince somewhere still in government, but regardless has decided to move on.
However, he was not told who will be replacing Priebus, or whether Trump has already someone in mind. But, despite some rumors, it will not be Trump’s senior adviser Steve Bannon.
A name that has been mentioned in the media is lobbyist David Urban, who has served as Chief of Staff to Arlen Specter. Picking Urban to Replace Reince will only slow down the process of draining the swamp, not accelerate it.
Erickson is right in thinking that Urban would be a disastrous pick as Priebus’ replacement. Here’s what conservative reporter Noah Rothman wrote on Twitter upon finding out of Priebus’ ousting.
In a post-Priebus White House, the post of Chief of Staff will be ceremonial in nature. CoS duties will be shared by Ivanka and Lewandowski.
Well, to bring back Lewandowski on Trump’s team sounds a hell of a lot better, and it is sure to meet the approval of the millions of voters that entrusted Trump with their ballot.
